Short Trench Coat: the long trench, cut off at the hip

The hem stops at the top of the hip, so the coat sits over a midi skirt instead of fighting it. Cut wide, falling straight from a dropped shoulder.

Cropped at the hip. It sits over a skirt without cutting the leg line in half.
Wide notched lapel. Worn folded back and open. Turned up, it covers the neck.
Full gathered sleeves. Roomy the whole length, gathered into a plain flat cuff.
Self tie belt. The belt alone closes it. No buttons, no zip, no hood.

Materials: Matte cotton blend gabardine with no sheen. The supplier states a fibre content of at least ninety five percent for the main fabric.

Choosing your size

The chart gives the garment laid flat, not the body. Take your usual Australian size for the intended loose fit, and leave ten centimetres against the chest column.

Care

Cold gentle wash with the belt removed, or dry clean. Line dry in the shade, as direct sun fades khaki unevenly. Hang it on a broad hanger.
