Racerback Tie Dye One Piece Swimsuit: Made for Laps
A sports one piece swimsuit for women who swim: pool laps and surf beaches across Australia.
- Tie Dye Panels Pink, coral, yellow, mint, blue.
- Hip to Shoulder White piping, round neck.
- Racerback Round cut out, free shoulders.
- Boyshort Legs Covers more, contrast seams.
- Sizes S to XXXL AU 8 to AU 18, 67.5 to 75 cm.
Materials: Knit polyamide, sheds water, dries fast. Chlorine and salt are hard on swimwear: rinse in fresh water after a swim. Hand wash cold, dry flat in shade.
What It Actually Looks Like
The body is black. One curved panel runs from the hip up to the shoulder on each side, printed in a soft tie dye of pink, coral, yellow, mint and blue, and outlined in white piping that follows the curve. The back is a racerback with a round cut out between the shoulder blades. The leg is a boyshort, cut straight across the thigh, with contrast seams tracing the front. From ten metres away it reads as a black sports one piece with a stripe of colour through it, which is the point.
How It Fits
A racerback pulls the straps in towards the spine, so the shoulder stays covered when you lift your arm over your head. That is the reason to buy this cut rather than a halter, and it is the difference between swimming and adjusting your swimsuit. The boyshort leg sits across the top of the thigh instead of cutting up at the hip, so it stays put when you push off a wall and it covers more when you climb out.
Sizes run from S to XXXL, which is AU 8 to AU 18 on the chart below. Measure your bust, waist and hip in centimetres over the underwear you would swim in, and read the chart rather than assuming your usual letter carries across. If you land between two sizes, take the larger one. A one piece that is a size small through the torso pulls down at the shoulder all day.
Looking After It
Chlorine and salt are what wear out a swimsuit, not swimming. Rinse it in cold fresh water as soon as you are out, press the water out instead of wringing it, and dry it flat in the shade. Sun on a wet swimsuit is what turns a good one slack by February. Do not leave it rolled up in a wet bag in the car, and keep it off hot concrete around the pool, which is rough enough to pill the knit.
